Rebajes Copper Cuff Bracelet

SOLD

Here is a wonderful vintage cuff bracelet created in copper by noted American modernist, Francisco Rebajes. Rebajes was one of the first craft jewelers in New York's  Greenwich Village in the early 30s, and by the 1950's, he had his own store on 5th Avenue.

Though the Rebajes' name is synonymous with Copper Art, Rebajes worked in many mediums including silver and gold. His modernist designs became world famous for their innovation and creativity. Even his signature is modernist. He referred to his jewelry as 'wearable art'.

The comedy and tragedy masks were a recurrent theme in many of his designs.

The cuff is about 6 1/4" around plus a gap of about 1 1/4". The width is 1 1/4"
