Canadian Ceramic Craft (CCC) Butterfly Dish

Dennis Tupuy, who had immigrated to Canada from Czechoslovokia in 1951, was hired by Blue Mountain Pottery as their first mold maker, however, around 1960, he left Blue Mountain to form his own company, Canadian Ceramic Craft. He located in Craigleith which is close to Collingwood and used the same red clay as Blue Mountain. With his own company he had more artistic license and CCC produced ceramics in a range of exciting colours.

This piece is a large serving dish in the shape of a butterfly. the flow glaze is a combination of browns, greens and a bit of white. The company described this as their 'flame' glaze. The dish is approx. 12" x 11" and about 1 3/4" deep.
