Nantgarw is a village in the coal-mining area of Wales. I would assume that this pattern by Burleigh Ware is based on Welsh designs. It appears to be entirely hand painted. The plate bears a British Reg # of 669162 which dates the design to 1919.
It is 10 3/8″ in diameter with a depth of 1½”. It seems to be too deep to be adinner Plate but too shallow to be a cream soup bowl. Regardless, it is beautiful but has an unfortunately prominent crack, however it will display well depending on the sort of display you want to create. It is also heavily crazed and has some light staining. See pictures.

All items destined to any country outside of Canada (including USA) will have tariffs applied (percentage of the item’s value depending on the country of origin) and brokerage fees (approx $2).
Items destined to the USA require a label or mark stating the country of origin – in many cases vintage items aren’t marked and I may have to physically attach such a label myself.
