I purchased this in India in early 1980s. It is intricately woven and knotted over a series of metal hoops in what I believe is mostly cotton yarn. It has a colourful midsection and includes 6 Rudraksha stones suspended from it. These are the seeds of the Elaeocarpus ganitrus tree and are associated with the Hindu deity Shiva. The 4 mid-section hoops are 10″ in diameter and the overall height is about 31″ with a wooden ‘weight’ at the bottom (last picture). There are no snags. The gap at the bottom in the last picture is where the bottom hoop is open.

Re shipping. Etsy recently changed its framework so that shipping charges are what the post office charges and include nothing to cover the sellers’ packing and handling costs. As a result I am having to increase shipping prices in other ways so I don’t lose money. I’m hoping this works but in some cases I may have to ask you for additional payment before I can complete the sale.

All items are packed carefully and securely. I use recycled materials wherever possible.

I will combine shipping on multiple purchases whenever appropriate in order to save you money.

Important note to AMERICANS: Because of the trade war that President Trump is waging with the world, all items bound for the US will have tariffs (percentage of the selling price depending on the country of origin) and brokerage fees (approx C$2.50) applied which at this point are not being shown when you are paying. At the moment, the only way I can recover these is to bill you for them after the sale. Also, there are many items I may not be able to ship to you at all. Border regulations at the moment require that I declare the country of manufacture and in many cases they are not marked and I don’t know.

All items destined to any country outside of Canada (including USA) will have tariffs applied (percentage of the item’s value depending on the country of origin) and brokerage fees (approx $2).

Items destined to the USA require a label or mark stating the country of origin – in many cases vintage items aren’t marked and I may have to physically attach such a label myself.
