“AMOR SKIN, the Secret of Women Who Never Look Old, you need no longer fear the ravages of time; the gradually appearing, tell-tale lines on face, neck and decollete.” That was the advertising message in the 1930s for Amor Skin which was a German brand of cosmetics which specialized in face creams. They were in business from approx 1928-1946.

This skin cream was sold exclusively in special porcelain pots shaped like an Aladdin lamp. One “lamp” of Amor Skin cost $25 in 1928 which would be about $400 today. This pot is empty. It is Gold lustre over white porcelain. The lid is shaped like a flame (the flame of youth?) and has a cork liner.

The pot is 4.25″ long and 2.25″ high. Excellent condition apart from wear on the gold.
