Here’s a really distinctive set of salt and pepper shakers for your dining table. The salt shaker features “Persian Balm … for cleaning your teeth, shaving, shampooing, bathing and all toilet purposes”. The Pepper has an ad for a wooden Quassia Cup (Quassia is a medicinal wood cure-all). Both ads are from Medicine Hat, Alberta and they have the “Ye Olde Canadian Crock Prints” logo on the back.
Beauce Pottery produced a wide range of functional pottery pieces in its Abenakis series which featured “19th Century Woodprint Reproductions”. The series was made in the 1970s.
The salt shaker is about 5″ high, the pepper – 3″. Both pieces are about 2″ in diameter. Excellent condition. The bottoms have impressed writing but they are unreadable. they have cork stoppers.
I have numerous other pieces in this series which are shown in the last picture. I have sold some of them and am listing them all over time, but if you see something now that you are interested in, please email me. If you buy additional pieces, the shipping per unit is less.

Re shipping. When you check out you will be quoted a price for the shipping based on your address and the estimated physical size and weight of the package.
All items destined to any country outside of Canada (including USA) will have tariffs applied (percentage of the item’s value depending on the country of origin) and brokerage fees (approx $2).
Items destined to the USA require a label or mark stating the country of origin – in many cases vintage items aren’t marked and I may have to physically attach such a label myself.
I use Chit Chats, a Canadian shipping company that shops around for the best rates from both public and private sources worldwide.
All items are packed carefully and securely. I use recycled materials wherever possible. Most shipments are insured.
I will combine shipping on multiple purchases whenever appropriate in order to save you money. I will refund the saving when the items are shipped.
If you live or work in the vicinity of Whitby, Ontario, you can pick up your purchase and save the shipping charges. You could also drop by and view the items we’ve listed in person. See address below.
