from Wikipedia: “Pierre-Joseph Redouté (1759 – 1840), was a painter and botanist from Belgium, known for his watercolours of flowers at the Château de Malmaison, many of which were published as large, coloured stipple engravings. He was nicknamed “the Raphael of flowers” and has been called the greatest botanical illustrator of all time. Redouté was an official court artist of Marie Antoinette, and continued painting through the French Revolution and Reign of Terror. He survived the turbulent political upheaval to gain international recognition for his precise renderings of plants, which remain as fresh today as when first painted.”
This pair would have been plates in one of the books which were published of his work at the time and they were likely hand coloured at that time.
The wooden frames with the fabric surround are of a style common in the 1950 & 60s. They are 9.5″ x 11.5″ and the pictures themselves are 5.5″ x 7.5″. There are minor bumps on the frames but they are generally in very good condition.

Re shipping. When you check out you will be quoted a price for the shipping based on your address and the estimated physical size and weight of the package.

Items destined to the USA require a label or mark stating the country of origin – in many cases vintage items aren’t marked and I may have to physically attach such a label myself.
