Construction of on the Notre Dame Church—the present-day Basilica—began in 1824 and it was consecrated in 1829. The towers were added in 1841 and 1843. The building can accommodate 8,000 to 10,000 worshippers. On its completion, it was the largest church in North America and remained so for over fifty years.

This porcelain souvenir dish would date from about 1900. It was made in Germany with an image of the church in the middle and a reticulated border in a peach lustre glaze. It is 5″ in diameter. Excellent condition – no cracks, chips or wear.

Re shipping. When you check out you will be quoted a price for the shipping based on your address and the estimated physical size and weight of the package.

All items destined to any country outside of Canada (including USA) will have tariffs applied (percentage of the item’s value depending on the country of origin) and brokerage fees (approx $2).

Items destined to the USA require a label or mark stating the country of origin – in many cases vintage items aren’t marked and I may have to physically attach such a label myself.

All items are packed carefully and securely. I use recycled materials wherever possible. Most shipments are insured.
